Caption For Image: [SOLD] Root is a brilliantly-colored and patterned mask. The face is handspun, plant-dyed wool handwoven in colorful stripes and patterns. A bold black and white crown lined with indigo-goldenrod green sets off the bright yellow headdress, dyed with weld from the artist's garden. A lacy border of crochet texture dyed with fresh Japanese indigo follows the circular contour of the headdress, which is supported and shaped by a spruce root, visible emerging at the bottom of the mask.
